1. Purpose & Scope
This Child Safety Policy explains BuddyFy’s standards, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to prevent and respond to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), and other forms of child endangerment. It covers all users, content, features (live streaming, video calling, messaging), and third-party integrations.
2. Zero‑Tolerance & Prohibited Conduct
BuddyFy has a zero‑tolerance policy for any content, behaviour, or conduct that sexualizes, exploits, endangers or harms children (persons under 18 years). The following are strictly prohibited on BuddyFy:
- Possession, creation, sharing, or distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
- Solicitation of sexual activity with or by minors, sexual grooming, or any sexualized communications involving minors.
- Any content that sexualizes minors (including drawings/animations that depict minors in sexual context).
- Organising, facilitating, or promoting meetings or encounters with minors for sexual activity.
- Any content that encourages the exploitation or endangerment of children.
3. Definitions
- Child / Minor: any person under 18 years of age.
- CSAM: Child Sexual Abuse Material — any content that depicts sexual activity involving a child or sexual content focused on a minor.
- Grooming: actions intended to befriend or establish an emotional connection with a minor to lower their inhibitions for sexual purposes.
4. Published Standards (Play Store requirement)
In accordance with platform requirements (including Google Play’s Child Safety Standards), BuddyFy explicitly prohibits CSAE/CSAM and publishes those standards in publicly accessible policies (this page and our Terms of Service). We have implemented the controls and processes described in this document to identify, remove, and report violations.
5. In‑App Reporting & User Feedback
BuddyFy provides multiple in‑app mechanisms for users to report suspected child exploitation, abuse, or other safety concerns:
- Report button on profiles, messages, streams and recordings.
- Easy one‑tap reporting flow that allows users to attach descriptions and (if safe and appropriate) evidence.
- Dedicated reporting email: child-safety@buddyfy.club (replace or update as needed).
How reports are handled:
- All reports are triaged by our moderation team 24/7 or as soon as possible.
- If a report indicates potential CSAM or imminent danger to a child, we will immediately remove the content (if hosted) and escalate to law enforcement and to relevant hotlines, in accordance with local law.
- We preserve relevant metadata and logs to support investigations and legal requests.
6. Child Safety Point of Contact
BuddyFy designates a child safety point of contact to handle CSAE/CSAM reports, law enforcement requests, and safeguarding coordination:
- Name: Child Safety Team — BuddyFy
- Email: child-safety@buddyfy.club
- Response time: We aim to acknowledge critical reports immediately and resolve or escalate them within 24 hours where possible.
(Update contact details above to a monitored mailbox or dedicated security contact before publishing.)
7. Cooperation with Law Enforcement & Reporting Obligations
BuddyFy cooperates with law enforcement and will comply with lawful requests for user information. When we become aware of CSAM or imminent risk of harm to a child, we will:
- Preserve and secure evidence (content, metadata, IP addresses, timestamps) to aid investigations.
- Report CSAM to relevant national hotlines and law enforcement agencies as required by law.
- Comply with international obligations and local legal reporting requirements.
8. Content Moderation & Detection
To detect and prevent CSAE/CSAM, BuddyFy uses a mix of automated detection tools and human review:
- Automated classifiers and hashing technologies to detect known CSAM.
- On‑platform filters to identify sexual content, grooming language, or risky behaviour patterns.
- Human moderators trained in child safety to review escalations and complex cases.
Automated tools are not perfect; we combine human review and escalation protocols to reduce false positives and ensure appropriate action.
9. Age Gates, Verification & Parental Controls
- BuddyFy is intended for users aged 18+. We implement age-gating on signup and recommend parental supervision for minors using connected accounts.
- We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create accounts. If discovered, such accounts are removed and data is handled per our removal procedures.
- Where applicable, the app supports parental controls and recommendations for safer use.
10. Enforcement & User Sanctions
Violation of this policy may result in actions including but not limited to:
- Immediate removal of content.
- Temporary or permanent suspension or termination of accounts.
- Reporting to law enforcement and relevant authorities.
- Blocking IPs/devices or removing related accounts on our platform.
11. Data Retention & Evidence Preservation
When preserving evidence for investigations, BuddyFy may retain relevant content, logs and metadata for a reasonable period even after account deletion, in accordance with legal obligations and to protect children. We will securely store and limit access to preserved data.
12. Training & Safety by Design
- Regular training for moderation staff on CSAE/CSAM recognition, trauma‑informed handling, and legal obligations.
- Product design that minimises interaction risk (rate limits, reporting prompts, nudges for safety, restrict direct contact with unknown minors, etc.).
- Periodic policy reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with platform policies and laws.
13. International Compliance
BuddyFy is subject to multiple jurisdictions and will comply with local laws related to child protection, mandatory reporting, and data preservation. Where local laws require additional steps, we will follow them.
14. How to Report an Emergency
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. After or in parallel, please report the incident to BuddyFy via the in‑app report or by emailing child-safety@buddyfy.club.
15. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Child Safety Policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Material changes will be published here with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, notified to users via the app.
